Victory - Week 1 Results

I'm on the right track...Down 5.4 lbs of fat for the week!!! Very excited!!! My nutrition has been the thing that I couldn't quite get ahold of and now that I'm doing that, the fat just melts off! Honestly, I've known it for ages, but it seemed that everything fell neatly into place after vacation.

My reward meal will be tomorrow evening with sushi and sumos (plum wine and vodka mixed together), with my DH. I am looking forward to enjoying the planned outing. In the past, I've tried "free days" which ended up being day-long binge fests. When I was heavier, I could still lose weight doing that. Now, it's just enough to keep me maintaining this weight for a couple of years! I've tried eating complex carbs for all of the meals, but weightloss was so slow that I got discouraged and gave into temptations. That won't do. I know that I will benefit greatly from shedding more fat. I don't need it anymore. (That felt odd to write...)

I am a grown woman that knows what she wants, and has been given the tools of regular exercise and nutrition guidelines to get there! I'm grateful to have Tom Venuto's guidelines. I'm also grateful for my friends on the same road as I, and I hope that my efforts will spur others onto new horizons of their own.

David's HOME!!!! He made it back in the States on Thurs. It will be awhile until I get to see him, but at least I know he is safe!

Hey Margaret,
so glad to see that you are getting to grips with your fitness goals.
Was going to suggest, but I see you are ahead of me, that you eat 3 meals with starchy carbs and three with just fibrous...I have been doing this for a very long time now and have lost steadily every week. I'm used to it and very seldom have hunger pangs.. At the moment I'm having NO free meals and I doing fine.

So appreciate you visiting my blog..like old times.
