Week 1 BFD Report!

Well, I guess I'll continue on this track....! The scale shows a 5.6 lb decrease this week!!!! Yikes!!! I have had good energy. I've also been able to pace myself well with activity...Enough physical activity to make my body even healthier, as well as rest and relaxation when achiness calls for it.

Today's workout was such enjoyment. Our Labor Day was just PERFECT weather, so I climbed on my bike and rode to the gym. There, I did a total body resistance workout. Then, back on the bike, I completed the workout on my ride home.

After returning from the gym, I went grocery shopping, choosing the bounty of the harvest at this time of year. It's so nice not to break the bank when shopping this time of year too...an added bonus..! Seeing an acquaintance in the grocery store left an interesting reaction. Our sons had been teenage adversaries about 5 years ago. My son is now married, with a child, and serving his 2nd tour in Iraq now. I don't think she recognized me...but I think her daughter did. I've lost 60 lbs since we'd seen each other the last time. Later, bumping into them again in the store, we made brief eye contact. She turned her head a bit to appear like she didn't want contact. Her daughter had always been nice, so I nodded kindly to her. It was so interesting because I was just thinking about that whole situation yesterday when I came upon some old papers I was clearing out...Even more interesting, I didn't even have a thought to eat in reaction to the stress. I just realized that now when sitting down to write. I felt proud of the actions that I've taken in the past years...I knew I looked confident and happy. She looked just the same, and that isn't a compliment.

I pampered myself with an hour of lounge-chair time this afternoon when the high sun was done. I actually fell asleep. What a glorious weekend and I accomplished so much....work and rest! I hope everyone else did too.

Take Care,

Margaret
