June is here!

How I love the blossoming flowers and green grass of Spring! It really is lovely to get outside and breathe the scents of the seasons! As I walk in the neighborhood, I enjoy the changing aromas of the neighborhood's flora...Really a wonderful time of year. Also, it reminds me that the time is getting closer and closer for our trip to Greece in September. It's so exciting to think about.

I do have to get back on-track with food and exercise! We've had too many family gatherings and excuses for both to be put on hold...Last night, I ruined my night's sleep by succumbing to some candy early in the evening. That sugar gets hold of me and ruins whatever plans I have! So, I remembered my friend Lynda's vow to start her program anew today and thought I'd join her on the road to progress.

I must remember how much this sugary stuff affects my life: decreased appetite for healthy foods, lack of desire to get off my butt and get moving in exercise or any other physical activity, a burning feeling in my tummy from my body saying "What the heck is this junk?", and a sense of depression that seeps in to rob my of my joyful living...All for a few moments of pleasure...Gee, that all doesn't sound fun, does it?????????

So, I stopped for a lovely salad and have committed to staying the course to help my body feel energetic, happy and serene. Food is fuel...that can happen to taste good too!

I'm right there with you on the effects of sugar. In addition, hot flashes come back, sleep is not good and headaches come back when I quit it again. Big SIGH. So why do we do it??? Oh yes, huge craving when you're upset or unhappy. In spite of it all it is a big comfort food and sometimes it is just overwhelming.

But we'll move on and get back on track again because when the stress passes by we remember why we DON'T eat sugar any more. :)

Margaret, WE can do this! Would love to have you join in with me. What I did is buy some 85% cocoa chocolate and eat that when I want, so it´s good for you besides. Only a little of course, but still fun. Stop all sugar besides. I find that eating something with some fat when the craves come along helps a lot!

You can get into perfect shape for Greece. Wonderful moment to start the fat-loss-muscle-building moment right now!

I am with all of you re sugar.

Bad news for me. It makes my feet ache the morning after. Go figure.

I need to put it behind me too!

Sugar usually sets off binges for me so I must not have it unless I am convinced that I'm in a frame of mind to stop at one serving.

Weird too...I was SO ACHY all over and just ONE DAY off the stuff and my pain is decreased by 90%! That's the goofy thing about all this...I SEE and FEEL all the benefits and yet have backslid so many times...I want to "GET IT" PERMANENTLY!!!!!

Thanks all for stopping by....

Hugs,
Margaret
