Manic Monday

Too much craziness today with much to tax my brain about! The day is flying by and I am SO looking forward to getting to the gym and letting the trainer push me through the gamut of physical ability while I mindlessly comply! The head trainer commented the other day, after I sang the praises of my new trainer, that it is nice to let someone else do the directing. Yes, I like letting someone else drive for once!

I did get on the scale and haven't seen that change much, but really noticed that my body is changing in very positive ways. I'm wearing clothes that had gotten "uncomfortable" with ease now. My abdomen doesn't feel like it's protruding as much as it did. A significant change I noticed yesterday was in my gait. I felt more balanced and strong in my legs and hips. In the last year, I've been seeing a chiropractor due to a gait imbalance that was affecting my walking ability. After about 25 minutes, my left foot would have a slamming motion that disturbed me. Yesterday, I realized that my gait was off and was able to adjust by leading with my left foot...I swear I've tried everything before this to stabilize myself, but suddenly I had the ability and I really credit the work that the trainer has been doing with me. I'm signing up for more sessions today!

Another unusual occurrence happened on Saturday. We were traveling to our friend's house for their son's wedding shower. Anticipating the goodies, I planned to have an adult beverage or two and some of the party food...I got there, went to the cooler and wanted a diet Coke. When it came time to eat, I chose healthy options in healthy amounts. I grabbed a bottle of water to drink. Later on, I had another diet Coke...What's going on? I didn't "need" to indulge! Even when it came time for cake, I helped the hostess by passing out cake and didn't want any....Let me say that again....I DIDN'T WANT ANY! It held absolutely no appeal for me. I did have a few tortilla chips and later had popcorn, but it wasn't the usual "gotta have it, gotta have it..."

On Sunday, I kept it all going with a bike ride, a walk and the purchase of a fruit platter to feed the masses at home. I enjoyed chicken and veggies for my supper. What is going on? Whatever it is, someone should alert the media because it appears another miracle has occurred! I want to stay on the road that gives me the healthiest me that I can be.

Enjoy the day everyone!
