The weekend was so wonderful...busy, but different from "work" busy-ness...Yesterday, I got on my bike and rode to DM and DF's. I wanted to catch up a bit with them since DM will have some surgery on Tuesday. Prayers please...She's having her wrist repaired after breaking it when slipping on some ice this winter. It didn't heal correctly...
So, I hopped on the bike to ride the 4.5 miles to their home. It's a lovely, hilly ride and the weather was sunny, but cool. I found myself really pushing on hills, so I decided to use the cage on the right pedal to keep my foot from it's tendency to pronate. All was going fine and I would take the foot out of the cage when coming to stops. It was a bit of a pain to get it back in there when taking off, but I did the whole ride to the parents...On the way home, I decided to try and keep the foot in the cage, stepping down on my left foot. As I climbed the first hill, I came to a busy highway and could tell I was going to be stopped by the light...I started to slow and my foot felt stuck and over I went...in slow-motion...I rolled into the fall, thankfully and just laid my head back after landing....Oh, I felt stupid. I could imagine all the "thousands" of people eyeing the action...Thankfully, I was slow enough and just sustained road rash and a couple of bruises on my leg. What it did teach me, though, was that I really should be wearing a helmet! Yes, I've been putting it off because I've anticipated that it would be warm and clunky, but I see that it should be "safety first" when it comes to riding...I envisioned all the mothers in the various minivans saying to their kids, "Did you see that lady fall? She should have a helmet on!" Oh, how embarassing...So, lesson learned. Also, I am grateful to not have broken MY wrist....
Food was VERY GOOD all weekend and I consciously drank plenty of water. I have to say that the whole weekend was one of progress!
Take care of yourselves too.

Margaret, you fell off your bike! Yikes! Hate that it happened, but since it wasn´t a real disaster, now you have learned to put on the helmet. I do. Used to not do it before, but at our stage of the race, it´s a very smart thing to do. Love that adorable baby. Can see how you are loving her so much. She kinda looks like you too.
Hugs,
Lynda
Yeah...just found another bruise too!! Oh, it could have been so much worse...
Funny, everyone says she looks so my like DS2, and yet I see a lot of her mother too...what fun!
Thanks for stopping by.
Margaret, glad you are ok after falling. Usually these things are more embarrassing than anything!
Love that new outfit on Olivia with the 'Bad Hair Day' saying.
btw: She looks quite happy. I don't think her lack of hair is bothering her a bit! lol
LOL Debbie!!!!! It's just so ironic how LITTLE hair she has and her DM has a TON!
