Messy Monday....

Visiting with my DF this morning and a thought came to mind...It's really messy coming into this world, as my experience having 4 children showed me. But you know what? It's usually pretty messy leaving this world too. DF has pneumonia now, and will be moved to a hospice unit sometime this week. His body lays there and he seems to sleep most of the time. We're sure to keep him comfortable with medications. The whole process is still messy though. I can imagine he'd crack up at that observation, if he weren't at this point in life. He was always a good audience for my humor! So, we wait...

Mother's Day weekend was just what my grieving heart needed. I spent much of Saturday morning with DD2 and she's got such a lovely way of seeing the funny sides of things. She had me laughing and I hugged her later to thank her for her help in healing my heart...DD1's gift to me was travel accessories for our trip in September and I was touched by her thoughtfulness. DS2's gift was a BEAUTIFUL picture of DGD1 in a lovely frame. To top it all off, DS1 called from NC while we had our guests on Sunday and we all got to visit via speaker phone.

I also celebrated with some treats yesterday, but am right back to work today. Even sent the leftovers home with my children so they wouldn't be near to tempt me. I had many nice compliments from my guests noticing my physical changes. I'm taking DM for a walk later to get her out of DF's hospital room for a few minutes. We both need to clear our heads with some WI sunshine and fresh air!

One more thing...I gave in and bought my bike helmet on Friday...I will wear it. I've got too much to live for!

This is a day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Hugs all,

Margaret

Hi dear Margaret,
My heart hurts for all you have on your plate right now. I didn´t know your DF was with pneumonia, and when you said *hospice*, it made me shiver. Does that mean what I think it means? Is he really that sick now? So glad your mother has you with her. You are her sunshine and rock. Thinking of you!

do you not have to wear a bike helmet!!!! wow, my chin is on the floor! It is law over here and i can't imagine being on a bike without one! My daughters are well trained and even wear their helmets on their scooters!!! When we were on hols in the uk (non compulsory helmet place) abbey wouldn't even get on a bike because she didn't have a hat!!
