Back to Basics

After missing last week's goal, I decided that I needed a refresher on goal-making. I've spent some time absorbing the first chapter of BFFM by Tom Venuto and getting back to the basics. When I had read the first chapter in the past, I have to say I skimmed it to get to the "meat" of the program....diet and exercise. I've heard too many successful people stipulate that missing the goals section will mean missing the mark. So, I'm writing new goals and affirmations. I've already got a list posted in front of me for frequent perusal throughout the day, so I've taken a good first step. I'm not going to rush through this process either. I feel the plan is taking shape nicely and I am going to get this done completely to ensure success. When I'm finished, I'll post the goals here.

In the meantime, here are the affirmations that I'm feeling good about:

· I always look for the healthiest food to eat and enjoy.
· My body is a fat-burning machine that constantly targets fat to obliterate.
· The good nutrition that fuels my body, also heals my body.
· I shed fat more easily than most people because I work at it so diligently.
· I use the words “Next” or “Switch” to edit statements to maintain a positive attitude at all times.
· I love to work out and I know that each effort brings me closer to my goals. I look for opportunities to move and grow.
· I am so happy and thankful now that I am 150 lbs.

I've already gotten a couple of walks in during breaks at work. I figure if the smokers can do their thing for 10 minutes, so can I.

The future is so bright I gotta wear shades!!!!!!

Margaret, I like the "Next" or "Switch" words to take focus away from something. I sometimes use the words "No More" in relation to overeating. It has been working most of the time but I forgot to say it yesterday prior to a feeding frenzy and paid the price!

That wasn't my brilliance!!! It was in the book...from the brilliant Tom V!!!

The others were mine, though...I've got the list posted in front of me at work and at my place in the kitchen where I am when prepping or eating...Working on goals today. I got them started though...
